Welsh rarebit


  • 125ml milk
  • 250ml beer
  • 1 eggs
  • 4 slices bread
  • 50g butter
  • 250g strong cheese
  • 50g flour
  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp english mustard


  1. Heat the milk in a pan and whisk in the flour.
  2. Add the cheese and stir in until melted.
  3. Add the mustard, Worcestershire sauce and beer.
  4. Once cooked remove from the heat and leave to cool.
  5. Beat the egg into the mixture.
  6. Finally spread the mixture onto the bread and grill until golden.
